I (Heart) Road Runner Turbo
I have griped incessantly about the lousy service from Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner in the past but, in a startling change of position, let me give it up for them. A month or so ago, I switch from regular Road Runner to Road Runner Turbo. It has been heaven.
Regular Road Runner was apparently coming out of Cincinnati (per Broadband Speed Test) and, while I was supposed to get 3-5 Mb out of the wall, I would routinely bog down at 1 Mb or less. Note- I’m aware that the dial-up users who read this are playing the smallest violin in the world right now but hey, I pay for the high speed I’d like to have it.
After much carping, I took Time Warner up on their offer to switch to RR Turbo. It is glorious! We get 10-15 Mb out of the wall (routinely it’s in the neighborhood of 10-12 Mb) which is great as we have four computers plus IPTV yanking down a ton of bandwidth. No problem at all. I ran a speed test today and rather than Cincinnati, my internet was originating from Toledo. It also was at 12.3 Mb.
So here are your props Time Warner- you’ve earned them.
