Take Two

Greetings from Pittsburgh

I am decamped tonight at the lovely Marriott City Center Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.  I was meeting with one of our largest clients today.  Oddly enough, I’ll head home tomorrow and then come back again on Thursday.  Such is the life in a national consulting practice.

This trip is especially enjoyable because Charity and the blossoms decided to join me.  While I was in meetings, Michael and Gabrielle were making good use of the pool.  The pool is on the 11th floor.  We are on the 16th floor.  Both provide excellent views of the city.

We went to McCormick and Schmick’s tonight for dinner.  The service was a little bumpy at the start; nothing huge it just took a few minutes for our server to notice we were there.  The manager apologized profusely (which was really not necessary) and gave us two free appetizers.  I went with the seared Ahi tuna while the kids had the crab cakes.  Charity had French onion soup.  I had the sea scallops.  We had dessert of chocolate sundae (for the kids) and carrot cake for yours truly.  I am still stuffed two hours later.  As a side note, even with the initial glitch the service was quite good.

We’re heading back in the morning.  More thoughts from back in Ohio.
