The Week That Was
It is a little after 6:00 PM on Friday evening and I’m still in my office. One caveat to that is my office is in my house so, when I wrap my day up in a few minutes, my commute will be about 15 seconds. You can’t beat that with a stick.
This week, I was buried in a blizzard that crushed my Sunday School Conference, took two trips to Pittsburgh, preached our mid-week service, and learned that our clients love us (as noted by their quick payment of our invoices). In short, I’m honing in on the elusive contentment I’ve been seeking. I had a finance meeting with my partner this morning and we talked about how lucky we are to be doing something that we love and actually get paid for it. It is an amazing thing. Along with my work, I serve at a great church with awesome people. I really couldn’t ask for more.
This weekend, Charity is working at the church craft fare so I will be playing wonder dad. I’m going to New York City on Sunday afternoon and looking forward to returning to my home away from home. I’ll be back on Monday night and then won’t have to travel the rest of the week. My office may obtain some sense of order by next Friday. For now, it’s time to pack it in and go play dad. I can always finish work in the morning when it’s quiet.
Have a great weekend.
