I just got back from a week of vacation with my family in San Diego. In case you’re wondering, it was awesome. We did Legoland, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and spent plenty of time by the ocean. I am completely refreshed and ready to get back to work.
I also took a cue from Brad Feld and went off the grid on this vacation. I handed my phone to my wife as we got off the plane in San Diego and got it back when we arrived in Columbus Saturday night. I had out of office messages on my phone and email and had zero work contact. Accordingly, I spent quality, engaged time with my wife and kids without checking my Twitter or Facebook every ten seconds or looking at emails and texts. It was my best vacation ever and without a doubt I’d do it again. The work stuff didn’t pile up too bad (I gave a cursory review of stuff this morning) and the world, for those of you reading this, didn’t end.
I am definitely looking forward to unplugging again in six months. Until then, back to work.
